Lacada West Bay

This is a great pale ale.
It's light with a pleasant zestiness from the citra and at 4.6% it's not overly punishing if you were going to use it as a session beer. I think that was the intention going into this particular beer.
The nose also carries that sweet zest that frankly is a pleasure to sniff.
The West Bay isn't overly carbonated, meaning that you'd really have to make a balls-up of the pour to have it foaming over the top of the glass. Just smooth drinking and a fantastically rich colour.
I do tend to wax lyrical about the Lacada products in conversation (just beer conversation folks, I'm not running about looking for people to pin down and talk about Portrush beers to) but the reason being is that I find that they generally have a great consistency of balance. There are some craft beers that try to go for bold flavours up front and then have no follow through flavour so it's like getting a glass of cordial that hasn't mixed properly and what you taste is mostly water.
The Lacada beers aren't like that, they always have a nice consistency on the tongue so I'm always happy to talk them up.
So the West Bay is a nice, fresh beer for a sunny day with some friends and a BBQ.
